Magical Fun at Hardwick Park this May half term!

Park trail: Quest for the Dragon Eggs

Saturday 26 May to Sunday 3 June

The Hardwick Park dragon has lost her eggs! Can you help her find them?

£1 per trail sheet. Drop into the gift shop to collect your trail sheet.

Wood Club

Saturdays on the following dates: 26 May and 23 June, 10.00am - 12.30pm

Wood Club is back for 2018! The whole family can get involved in these outdoor play and learning sessions where activities are challenging, bring out your imagination, encourage communication and creativity and teach new skills. Join our team once a month and spend some quality family time in the woods.

Younger siblings are welcome but sessions are aimed at school age children. Contact 03000 262 845 or outdoorlearning@durham.gov.uk for further details and to book.

£10 per family (age 5+)

Our Secret Garden

Tuesday 29 to Wednesday 30 May, 10.00am - 11.30am or 1.00pm - 2.30pm

Enter our enchanted secret garden for a very magical adventure. From chasing fairies, to joining our woodland tea party this is a mystical adventure not to be missed!

Family Crafts: Dragon Magic!

Friday 1 June, 11.00am - 3.00pm

Drop in to try our dragon themed craft activities and take a little magic back from your visit!

£3 per child. No booking required

Parking charges apply. Children must be accompanied by an adult during these activities.

Pre-school Special: Little Dinosaur's Stomp and Roar! 

Monday 11 June, 10.00am - 11.30am or 1.00pm - 2.30pm

Make and name a baby dinosaur in our craft, then build a nest and a den in the woodland to keep him safe. Specially designed for children under 5yrs.

£4 per child. Advance booking essential. Children must be accompanied by an adult. 

Dad's Den Building 

Sunday 17 June, 10.0am - 11.30am or 1.00pm - 2.30pm

Join us this Father's Day. Build a den in the woods with your family, learn fire lighting techniques and enjoy hot chocolate and marshmallows.

Toddler Tales and Trails: The Very Greedy Bee

Wednesday 11 or Saturday 14 July, 10.00am - 11.30am or 1.00pm - 2.30pm

Sessions specially designed for children aged 2 - 5 years featuring fun park trails and craft activities. 

£4 per child, advanced booking essential.

Pre-School Special: Mud Pie Making!

Monday 16 July, 11.00am - 3.00pm

Session specially designed for children aged 2 - 5 years. Create the most amazing mud pies you can in our woodland kitchen. Old clothes are a must for this fun, messy activity. 

£3 per child, no booking required.

Gruffalo inspired trail

Friday 20 July - Sunday 2 September 

Help us celebrate the return of our willow Gruffalo to its former glory! Take part in our Gruffalo inspired trail this summer. 

£2 per booklet (pencil included), collect from the gift shop during opening hours.

Ranger fun

Every Sunday from 22 July - 2 September (school holidays), 1.00pm - 3.00pm 

Join our rangers for fun environmental activities such as pond dipping, bug hunts and making clay creatures.

Free, no booking required.

Mud Pie Monday 

Monday 23 July, 11.00am - 3.00pm 

Create the most amazing mud pies you can in our woodland kitchen. Old clothes are a must for this fun, messy activity.

£3 per child. No booking required.

Gruffalo Woodland Adventures

Friday 27 July, 11.00am - 3.00pm 

Join us in the front woodland to try Gruffalo themed crafts and activities.

£3 per child. No booking required.


National Play Day

Wednesday 1 August, 11.00am - 3.00pm 

Join us for stories, games and woodland play as we celebrate all things fun!

Summer Camp

Monday 6 August to Friday 10 August, 10.00am - 3.00pm 

Summer camp is a great opportunity for children to get stuck into a range of different experiences and learn lots of new skills within the beautiful landscape of Hardwick Park.

Children will need to bring a packed lunch and wear suitable clothing for outdoor fun.

Team Invincible

Wednesday 15 August, 10.00am -11.30am or 1.00pm - 2.30pm 

Come dressed as your favourite superhero character and join our team invincible! Take part in themed outdoor games, crafts and exciting challenges to defeat the villains and save the world!

£6 per child, advance booking essential.
