Spennymoor pool information, including timetables (school term time and holidays) and what's available in our pool.

Free weekend swimming and Splashability sessions are available for children and young people aged 18 and under. Apply for a free under 19s Thrive card in advance of your first session. Please be aware that some of our swim sessions have an age limit and our supervision ratios apply.

Aqua class descriptions

Exercise classes in a pool!

Aqua circuits

This all-time favourite class is a great interval training workout. Mix up your routine with a variety of body conditioning and cardio-vascular exercise stations. Circuits work nearly every element of fitness from speed to strength. Our instructors will motivate you when the going gets tough, but be prepared to be challenged.

Aqua cycle

An underwater spin on a traditional cycling class, Aqua cycle involves pedalling against the resistance of the water, while the buoyancy reduces the impact on your muscles and joints.

Aqua fit

Experience all the benefits of an aerobics class but in the water. Water adds support and resistance to your body and our instructors will make sure this resistance is maximised to increase the intensity of your workout. If you thought a water workout was easy, then think again.

Aqua jog

Running in water is a great way to add some variety to your exercise routine. This class uses aquajog belts to help you keep your balance upright in the water. You can work at your own pace, so whether you are a regular land runner looking for something to compliment your training regime, or you want some low impact exercise, this class can be tailored to suit you.

Aqua jump

Using underwater trampolines, this instructor led class is filled with fun, high energy and will give you a great workout.

Aqua pole

Using water resistance for a waistline workout and buoyancy to replicate gymnastic style flexibility and improve core strength.

Aqua Zumba

Splash your way into shape with an invigorating low-impact aquatic exercise. Known as the Zumba® "pool party", Aqua Zumba gives new meaning to the idea of a refreshing workout. Integrating the Zumba philosophy with traditional aquatic fitness disciplines, Aqua Zumba® blends it all together into a workout that's cardio-conditioning, bodytoning and most of all, exhilarating beyond belief.

Tidal

This 30 minute intense water based class, high intensity/low impact making it suitable for a variety of fitness levels and abilities.
