Swim memberships
Swimming memberships are a great option if you swim regularly, and don't use the gym or group exercise classes.
How to join
Sign up for or book a leisure centre activity online - the quickest and easiest way to get a leisure membership, or call into one of our leisure centres.
What's included in a swim membership
A swimming membership includes unlimited swimming (during general swimming times) and aqua exercise classes at any of the following leisure centres:
- Chester-le-Street
- Consett
- Freeman's Quay
- The Louisa Centre (Stanley)
- Newton Aycliffe
- Peterlee
- Spennymoor
- Teesdale
- Woodhouse Close Leisure Complex
Who can join
If you are 16 years or above, you can take sign up for a swim membership. If you are 11 to 15 years please see our Young Lifestyle membership.
Concessions include:
- under 19 years
- over 60 years
- disability
- a carer
- in receipt of some benefits, including Income Support

Swim offers
Try our leisure centres for free with a three day complimentary pass. Simply call or visit your local and ask for your free three day pass. Whether you prefer a workout in the gym, an exercise class or a dip in the pool our three day pass can help you find an activity that suits you.
Swimming membership payments
We have a range of payment options to suit you, whether you would prefer to pay by monthly direct debit or an annual lump sum, find out about the different options below.
12 month direct debit contract
If you commit to a 12 month swimming contract, you sign up to the membership for 12 months, with your membership payment taken out of your account by direct debit each month.

No contract
If you do not want to commit to a 12 month swimming membership, you can now take advantage of our no-contract membership.
This offers you the flexibility to use the swimming facilities for as long or as little as you want with a cancellation period of 30 days' notice.

Annual paid in full
If you wish to commit to a 12 month membership and would prefer to make one payment at the beginning of your contract you can pay an annual lump sum. This is instead of signing up to a monthly direct debit payment and full payment for the year will be taken when you sign up.
