Your family's safety - supervising children

We operate an admissions policy to ensure a safe environment for everyone.

Children under eight years must be accompanied by an adult. Children who are eight years and older can be admitted to a swimming pool without an accompanying responsible adult but should be able to swim 25 meters confidently.

Our supervision ration for children under 8 years is as follows:

Pool typeChildren's ageNumber of adults
All other pools0 to 3 yearsOne adult per one child
All other pools4 to 7 yearsOne adult per two children

This policy applies to children under the age of 8 years and is specifically for our general swimming, fun sessions and pool parties.

The following will be refused entry to the pool (or possibly to the whole building at the discretion of the Operations Manager on duty);

  • No child under the age of 8 years to be admitted to a swimming pool unless accompanied by a responsible parent or adult 16 years or older.
  • A responsible adult is defined as someone aged 16 years or older and capable of supervising the child in a competent manner.
  • Where children under the age of 8 years are accompanied by a responsible adult, a maximum number of two children per adult is permitted for children aged 4-7 years and one child per one adult if the child is under 4 years.

The following will be refused entry to the pool (or possibly to the whole building at the discretion of the Operations Manager on duty);

  • any child who is, or appears to be, under the age of 8 years who is, or appears to be, unaccompanied by a responsible person 16 years or over
  • any child under the age of 8 years who is accompanied only by someone who is or appears to be under 16 years
  • any child under the age of 8 years who is accompanied by someone deemed not to be a responsible person
  • those who are, or are suspected to be, under the influence of alcohol or drugs
  • persons barred from the pool/building for previous misdemeanours
  • anyone deemed unfit to swim for health reasons
  • anyone without an adequate and decent swim wear
  • anyone who is abusive / violent on arrival
