Our car parks offer free parking after 2.00pm in Durham City. This does not include Durham City Park and Ride, Hardwick Park, Wharton Park and Riverside Park (South Ropery Lane, North Ropery Lane and the Donald Owen Clark car parks) and car parks that we do not own.

Park and Ride concessions

Day tickets for the Durham Park and Ride service are available from each of the three Park and Ride sites for only £2.00.

Day tickets offer unlimited travel throughout the day on any of our Park and Ride buses or the Cathedral bus. If you experience any problems using the ticket machine, help is always at hand. There is an operator's office at the Belmont site, while the machines at Sniperley and Howlands are linked to the office by a system that allows you to see and talk to an operator.

Concessions

If you are entitled to a concession you will need to show your pass to the driver. You may also be asked to prove concession entitlement or age to the bus driver.

The Park and Ride service is free after 9.30am Monday to Friday and all day Saturday for concessionary bus pass holders. Between 7.00am and 9.30am there is a 50p flat fare for customers using a County Durham concessionary bus pass.

Young people under the age of 16, who are accompanied by an adult over 21 years old, can travel for free.
