Our personal training programme can help you kick start your fitness goals.

We are encouraging and recommending you continue to wear a face covering, unless exempt, in our leisure centres, to protect our staff and each other.

Whether you are training for a specific event, trying to lose weight or looking to tone, our personal trainers can help support your journey to success.

Personal programme

Our trainers will work with you to create a programme that meets your needs, abilities and goals. Whether you prefer fitness classes, swimming or the gym, your personal trainer can put together a programme that plays to your strengths and challenges you to reach your goals. 

Our personal trainers can work with small groups too, so if you want to train with friends or family members, our team can create a programme where you all benefit from some extra support. 

Types of personal training

We offer two types of personal training and your personal trainer can offer advice on the type of training for you. 

Beginners Lifestyle

Combining exercise and nutrition advice, the Beginners Lifestyle option helps you look at the bigger picture and make changes. You can learn about altering your diet and the positive effect this can have on your fitness plans. We will also develop a bespoke fitness plan tailored to your goals. 

General personal training

These sessions focus purely on exercise and reaching your fitness goals. Your trainer can offer advice and support on form, technique or posture and monitor the success of your fitness programme. They can also provide top tips for taking part in a sporting event.   

How much does personal training cost? 

A Getting to Know You session is free (usually £10).

Each 60 minute personal training session will cost £30. Discounts are available for block bookings, sessions start from as little as £24. Group sessions are also available. 

Personal training is additional to your gym membership fee and is only available to Group 4 gym members at Consett Leisure Centre and The Louisa Centre. 

Payment information

Payments for personal training sessions can be made at reception using cash or card.

Where is personal training available?

We are currently piloting the personal training programme at Consett Leisure Centre. You will need to be a gym member at either Consett Leisure Centre or The Louisa Centre to take part. Once the pilot has ended we will consider running a personal training programme at our other leisure centres. 

How do I sign up for personal training? 

Ask a member of staff in the leisure centre and they will book your Getting to Know You session.
