Drug and alcohol statistics

County Durham experiences a number of issues in relation to misuse of drugs and alcohol.

The health and wellbeing of County Durham's population is shaped not only by lifestyle and behavioural factors (such as drug and alcohol harm) but also by a wide variety of social, economic and environmental factors (such as poverty, housing, ethnicity, place of residence, education, and environment).

Analysis and assessment of these themes has been developed into a series of Integrated Needs Assessment (INA) factsheets and provide a wide range of drug and alcohol statistics.

These can be accessed at Durham Insight: Joint Strategic Needs Assessment.

The latest available data can be found on Public Health England: Local Authority Health Profiles
