MOT testing

We provide MOT tests for a range of vehicles owned by local residents and businesses.

You can bring your vehicle to any of our depots for an MOT test. Tests are carried out by qualified technicians. We offer a quality service with prices starting from £50. Following the test, we will advise you of any work needed to bring your vehicle up to the necessary legal standard. You don't need to have repair works carried out by us and you can take your vehicle elsewhere to be repaired.

Your right to appeal

Complaints about MOT testing should be addressed to the manager of the test centre. A formal appeal against an MOT failure can be made to the Department of Transport.

Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) Authorised Testing Facility (ATF)

Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) and Public Service Vehicles (PSVs)

We offer MOT testing facilities for HGVs and PSVs. This is only available at our Meadowfield depot: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

We are an appointed authorised testing centre, allowing us to carry out testing on site.
All makes of trucks and trailers can be tested and repaired.
We use the latest truck and trailer diagnostic technology: 'Texa and Mercedes-Benz Star Systems'.

Tachograph station

We also provide Tachograph Centre facilities at our Meadowfield depot for all makes and models tachos and offer a full calibration service to repairs.

All works are carried out by Service Direct Newco Limited as a trading partner of Durham County Council.
