Look after your health

Understanding your personal health needs is very important. It's about knowing and appreciating the changes you need to make in your life, in relation to what you eat and how you exercise, in ways that fit in with your everyday life. Better health will help you to feel better both physically and mentally.

To help you take the first steps your journey toward Better Health, please find below a selection of online tests you can take to find out how healthy you really are.

The NHS: how well are you quiz provides a free personalized health score when you complete this 10-minute quiz.

Find out how healthy your heart is

The Heart Age Test tells you your heart age compared to your real age. It explains why it's important to know your blood pressure and cholesterol numbers and gives advice on how to reduce your heart age. Lifestyle related factors like high blood pressure and high cholesterol, as well as smoking, poor diet and a lack of exercise, can increase the risk of developing heart disease.

Type 2 diabetes - know your risk

The Type 2 diabetes Know Your Risk is designed for people without a current diagnosis of diabetes and is intended to highlight a person's risk of developing type 2 diabetes in the next 10 years. Finding out your risk of type 2 diabetes only takes a few minutes. It could be the most important thing you do today.

Alcohol - find out if you are drinking too much

Take Our Quiz - Reduce My Risk helps identify if you would benefit from some drink free days. It also provides hints and tips that will help you to reduce the amount you drink and lead a healthier lifestyle.

NHS Health Check

The NHS Health Check is a free health check-up for adults in England aged 40-74. It's designed to spot early signs of stroke, kidney disease, heart disease, type 2 diabetes or dementia. As we get older, we have a higher risk of developing one of these conditions. The health check helps find ways to lower this risk.
