Gambling premises

Premises licences are required for different forms of gambling, for example betting offices, track premises or adult gaming centres.

The Gambling Act 2005 replaced most of the existing law about gambling in Great Britain. It put in place an improved, more comprehensive structure of gambling regulation.

The act also put in place a strong role for local authorities in licensing gambling premises within their areas.
