Register a still birth

Information about registering a still birth.

When a child is still born, the doctor or midwife who was present at the birth or examined the body will issue a medical certificate of still birth.

Arrangements must then be made to have the medical certificate taken to the Register Office. A still birth must be registered under normal circumstances within 42 days.

You may register a still birth at The register office at The Story
