How much does a certificate cost?


Information about the charges for certificates of birth, death, marriage and civil partnerships.

The cost of the certificate depends on which service you require. The following costs are for copies of certificates held in The Register Office, The Story, Mount Oswald, Durham:

If you order a copy of a certificate and we are unable to find any trace of the record or do not hold the record, a search fee of £3.00 will be deducted from the amount refunded
