How much does a certificate cost?
Information about the charges for certificates of birth, death, marriage and civil partnerships.
The cost of the certificate depends on which service you require. The following costs are for copies of certificates held in the The Register Office, The Story, Mount Oswald, Durham:

| £12.50 | Post | By post within five working days, using 2nd class post. |
| £12.50 | Post | Outside of the UK, we aim to deliver within 28 days. |
| £38.50 | Collection | In person on the same day from The register office at The Story (collection between 10.00am and 4.00pm) |
| £38.50 | Post | By post the same day via 1st class post (order must be received by 12 noon) |
