Get involved with your Local Network
If you live, work, study or volunteer in County Durham, you can join a Local Network (LN) to find out what's going on in your area and have a say on local priorities. Which LN you can join depends on where you live or work.
Why you should join
If you join your LN, you'll be able to have your say on issues that affect your area. There'll be lots of different opportunities for you to get involved but how involved you become is up to you. When you join we will:
- invite you to our LN meetings and events
- give you the opportunity to get involved in our action planning
- let you know about local consultations
- share information on funding for communities
If you're already part of a LN, please recommend a friend to join too. Speak to your neighbours, people in your community group and the people you work with to tell them all about your LN, collectively we can do more.
Be part of your Local Network Panel
Later in 2025, LNs will be providing the opportunity for people who live, work, study or volunteer in the area to join their LN Panel as a Community Member. This exciting role will enable those residents to be at the heart of the LN decision making process, and they will sit alongside 7 partners and 7 councillors to complete the 21 LN Panel membership.
Our LN Panels will meet regularly to ensure that project delivery against their Local Network Action Plans is on track. Look out for LN Community Member recruitment from May. If you would like to find out more about LNs, or have any questions to ask, Contact Local Networks.
Find your Local Network
Our Local Network names are currently temporary - a formal consultation process will take place later in 2025.
