Vaccination and immunisations
Immunisations reduce the risk of infections and diseases. To help you to understand the vaccines offered in the UK and when to have them, see NHS: vaccinations. It also explains how they work and why they're safe and important.
There are many immunisations available such as flu, Covid-19, shingles, pneumonia, children and young people's immunisations programmes.
Vaccines can also be given to people at risk such as tuberculosis (TB), hepatitis B and chickenpox.
