Annual health checks for young people aged 14+ who have a learning disability

It is important that everyone over the age of 14 who is on their doctor's learning disability register has an annual health check.

Your carer can check for you if you are on the register.

These checks are free and can help you stay well by identifying any problems early so they can be sorted out.

You do not have to be ill to have a health check - in fact, most people have their annual health checks when they are feeling well.

If you are worried about seeing a doctor, let them know, they can make changes to help you. You should be invited by your practice to attend for an annual health check but if not you can ask them about this.

See NHS annual health checks for more information.
