Wonderland adventure brought to County Durham parks
Fans of Alice in Wonderland can continue the adventure with a free theatre production coming to parks across County Durham.
Throughout this month, Gala Durham will be touring A Mad Hatter Adventure, a spin-off from the venue's recent show, Alice in Wonderland.
The Mad Hatter
The outdoor production follows Tomas, who loves his job at Wonderland where he's in charge of the sensational spinning teacup.
But one night, when the park closes, the ride bursts into action and everything goes topsy-turvy, and Tomas becomes The Mad Hatter.
Reprising his role as The Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland, Kieron Michael will be joined by Zoe Lambert and Jude Nelson, stars of last year's Gala pantomime Sleeping Beauty, as they play Miss Placed and The Narrator.
Family-friendly show
Alison Clark, our head of culture, sport and tourism, said: "We are delighted to have seen so many people enjoy our recent production of Alice in Wonderland at Gala Durham. We also wanted to take the adventures of Wonderland into the community as part of our annual summer outdoor theatre programme.
"A Mad Hatter Adventure is a free, family-friendly show coming to parks and outdoor spaces across County Durham and reflects our commitment to creating accessible cultural opportunities for our residents. We encourage everyone to go along to their local performance and see this fantastic show."
