We have a variety of roles within our teams, working with children and young people, and making a real difference.

Roles

Educational Psychologist

Our Educational Psychologists provide an applied psychology service to a designated number of schools, both in relation to statutory input and traded work in schools at a non-statutory level.  They also provide high quality psychological advice as part of the Statutory Assessment and Review procedures.

Specialist Educational Psychologist

In addition to the duties of a Main Grade Educational Psychologist our Specialist Educational Psychologists manage and co-ordinate an identified area of specialist service delivery and establish additional areas of skills and expertise, for example emotional wellbeing, resilience and mental health.

Area Principal Educational Psychologist

Our Area Principal Educational Psychologists work closely with the Principal Educational Psychologist and other Area Principal Educational Psychologists to form a strong leadership team for Specialist Inclusion Support. They lead a defined group of Educational Psychologists and other groups of professionals by providing professional leadership and planning service delivery.

Strategic Manager Specialist Inclusion Support and Principal Educational Psychologist

Our Strategic Manager Specialist Inclusion Support and Principal Educational Psychologist is responsible for the leadership and operational responsibility of the specialist multidisciplinary teams within the Specialist Inclusion and Educational Psychology Service, ensures that requirements of the service are met including relevant statutory responsibilities, and contribute to strategic activity relating to SEND and Inclusion.

Our Principal Educational Psychologist is Peter Mulholland, a very experienced Educational Psychologist who has worked in Durham for most of his career.
