Climate change, carbon reduction and sustainability - get involved

We all share a responsibility to protect the environment where we live and work.

It's not just about reaching carbon reduction or net zero targets, it's about coming together as a community to create sustainable lifestyles within our own settings, our own homes. By doing so, we can provide future generations with greener, cleaner spaces to live and work, while also enjoying the health and financial benefits of reducing our carbon footprint.

You can get involved by sharing your story or getting in touch with any enquiries through our online form on our Climate County Durham - Get in touch page. Additionally, you can sign the Climate Change and Carbon Reduction pledge showing your commitment to a more sustainable future.

To learn more about the actions you can take, visit Climate County Durham - Get involved for further information and resources.

If you use social media, come and join our dedicated Climate County Durham on Facebook page where you can get tips and hints, weekly news articles and much more to keep you up to date with what's happening around climate change action and sustainability across County Durham.

We are looking at developing a county wide network of climate champions which we will be looking to launching in 2025. If you wish to express interest in joining the group or would like to provide us with any feedback please contact us by emailing climatecountydurham@durham.gov.uk
