Our Building Control roles

Building Control Officer

As a Building Control Officer you will work across a wide spectrum of Building Control activity, assisting in the provision of a timely and customer-focused Building Control service. You will have responsibility for a varied case load within a locality area. You will engage with customers and stakeholders and provide professional building control expertise, working within a quality management framework and utilising new technologies.

You will work on a variety of projects from initial application to completion. This will include processing applications, assessing submitted plans for compliance with current regulations and associated legislation, carrying out site inspections and maintaining documentation.

Other duties would include assessing dangerous structures under Section 77 & 78 of The Building Act 1984, investigating reports of unauthorised developments and compiling evidence for enforcement action where required.

Principal Building Control Officer

Do you have senior level experience of dealing with large and complex Building Control projects? The role of Principal Building Control Officer could be for you.

As a Principal Building Control Officer you will manage a busy team of officers and their allocation of workloads. As part of the role, you will assist the Building Control Manager with the compilation of accurate performance data for the service and play a lead role in service improvement initiatives.
