Due to essential maintenance, the following systems will be unavailable from 3.00pm on Friday 31 March until 8.00am Monday 3 April 2023: our online council tax, business rates and housing benefit services, and our welfare assistance form. You will also not be able to register to pay council tax online, make a change of address for council tax or cancel single person discount. You are still able to make a payment during this time. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

If you're of working age and think you may be eligible for help with your rent, you must apply for Universal Credit instead of Housing Benefit. Please note that the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is responsible for Universal Credit.

View your housing benefit account online

Register for secure access to your housing benefit payment account online. View your information at any time without needing to keep track of or store paper bills.

What can I do once my account is set up?

You can:

  • log in at a time that suits you - 24 hours a day, seven days a week
  • see account details that are updated instantly, so the information is always accurate
  • view your business rates bills securely rather than getting a bill through the post - this means you will no longer get a paper statement/bill
  • tell us about any change in your personal details (eg name, contact information), without having to contact us via the telephone or email
  • check your account, including your outstanding balance, future instalments and bill transactions
  • also access council tax and business rates information through this account
