Christmas tree collections

We collect real Christmas trees for free in December and January - we are no longer collecting trees for Christmas 2023.

When you request your collection, we'll give you the start date of the week in which we'll collect your tree. The tree could be collected any day during that week. If you book online, you will receive an email confirming the start date of your collection week.

Leaving your tree out for collection

When you leave your tree out for collection, please:

  • put your tree out from 7.00am on Monday of your scheduled week of collection
  • leave you tree/trees outside at the kerbside where your bin is normally collected
  • make sure we can gain access to the tree(s)
  • cut trees over 10 feet in height into a manageable size ie at least in half with further trimming to larger branches

Do not place your tree out for collection before your scheduled collection week. This helps stop the tree being taken by a third party who may not be licensed to collect and dispose of your tree legally, and your tree could end up being flytipped.

If you do not arrange a collection

If you want to get rid of your Christmas tree before January or you don't arrange to have your tree collected, you can take your tree to a household waste recycling centre. See Recycling centres (tips) to find your nearest or to see opening hours.

Supporting a local charity

Local charities may also offer Christmas tree disposal in parts of the County for a donation to their charity. Note: we are not running these services, your booking and any donation is an arrangement directly with them.
