Maple House - our new accommodation at Aycliffe Secure Centre

Maple House is our new home at Aycliffe Secure Centre. It has been designed to help our young people from the secure centre to adapt to a slightly more independent way of life, before they leave us.

The house provides accommodation for up to four young people of any gender or ethnicity, between the ages of 12 and 18.

Young people will come to live with us following on from their time at Aycliffe Secure Services, and we work with them to offer support while their longer-term plan is developed with them.

Supporting young people towards independence

Based on specialist training, our staff provide a nurturing, consistent and safe environment for our young people helping them to feel loved, safe, secure, listened to and valued.

We support our young people to realise their individual potential and be ambitious, preparing for their journey towards independence.

Time with us

Our young people will usually stay with us for between three and nine months, while they are supported to re-settle into the community. This includes helping them to make positive choices that keep them safe.

Maple House offers some continuity for young people who have spent time in secure services, whilst preparing them for a planned move to a longer-term home, independence, or a return to their family. Their next steps are planned with them and are in line with their wishes and feelings.
