Employment opportunity

We are supporting recruitment for Amazon's new Gateshead Fulfilment Centre. They are offering a five day course which will help develop the knowledge and skills needed to work for Amazon and all attendees will get a guaranteed interview on completion of the one week course. You must be aged 20 and over to be eligible and must be referred by your Job Centre Plus (JCP) Advisor. 

Each course will take place Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 3.00pm at Mile House, Bridge End, Chester-le-Street, DH3 3RA

Courses are: 9 to 13 August, 16 to 20 August, 23 to 27 August, 31 August to 3 September (Tuesday to Friday) and 6 to 10 September

Skills support

We can help you with our training package which covers skills such as:

  • food safety
  • health and safety
  • emergency first aid
  • customer service
  • business administration
  • IT
  • hospitality
  • mentoring
  • team leading
  • basic maths, English and ICT

We also offer a wide range of short courses that can be completed in a day in venues across County Durham. If you are unemployed all short courses are free. We currently offer over 30 short courses including:

  • Automated External Defibrillation
  • Health & Safety at Work
  • Food Safety
  • Safe Manual Handling
  • Principles of COSHH
  • Communicating Assertively
  • Professional Telephone Techniques
  • Supervisory Workshop

'Get into...' programmes

If you are unemployed or looking for a career change our 'Get into...' programmes help you gain knowledge, skills and experience to progress your chosen career. We offer:
