Venepuncture (phlebotomy) training


Delivered in partnership with Nurse training2care this virtual session aims to help learners develop knowledge of venepuncture.

Who the course is for

This course is ideal for anyone who works in Health and Social Care especially those who are required to take blood samples for analysis.

Learning method

The course is a virtual session over 2 hours, at the end of the session you will complete a short assessment to evidence the learning which will take you approximately 1 hour to complete.

What you will learn

By completing this course, you will gain knowledge of venepuncture and the legislation involved. You will learn the reasons blood sample are taken and what documentation is required which will develop and improve your skills in a health and social care setting (this course is theory only).

You will cover:

  • Infection control - hazards and risks.
  • Legislation.
  • Venepuncture
