The register office at The Story

The Story combines Georgian grandeur with state-of-the-art modern facilities. Ceremonies are conducted in the recently restored Grade 2 listed manor house. There are three ceremony rooms on the ground floor which are easily accessible.

• The register office - couple and two witnesses only
• The Story Manor Room - room holds 12 guests
• The Story Grand Staircase - room holds 16 guests
• The Story Durham Room - room holds 80 guests
• The Story Oswald Room - room holds 60 guests    

Photographs can be taken in the grounds.

How to get here

The Story is located at Mount Oswald, South Road, Durham City, DH1 3TQ  

The Story is a short bus or car journey from Durham City. It is set back from the main road in its own grounds and there is good public transport links nearby. Limited on-site parking is available.
