Strategy


The Strategy division of Resources is responsible for performance monitoring, improvement and planning, research and intelligence, equalities and Overview and Scrutiny arrangements.

These responsibilities cover areas such as:

  • Co-ordinating and reporting on all performance management information relating to key performance indicators.
  • Providing a strategic planning framework.
  • Supporting external inspectorate requirements and other statutory requirements.
  • Promoting, raising awareness and ensuring adherence to our Data Quality Policy (found at Council Performance).
  • Ensuring that the council and partnership data requirements are delivered to agreed timescales.
  • Commissioning surveys and providing a bespoke survey service.
  • Providing data for statutory and other assessments, and evidence bases (for example, County Durham Joint Strategic Needs Assessment).
  • Developing statistical profiles for the many different areas in the county.
  • Providing Census and statistical info including Index of Deprivation analysis.
  • Developing our Equality & Diversity framework.
  • Ensuring that the council meets its statutory obligations.
  • Overview and scrutiny arrangements.
