DurhamWorks

DurhamWorks is a dedicated project for young people aged 15-24 years old, who need extra help when making decisions about education, training and employment opportunities.

The project is funded through the Shared Prosperity Fund.

DurhamWorks will help unemployed 15-24 year olds, living in County Durham, through the provision of flexible and bespoke delivery of one-to-one support and small group activities. Each young person will use their time on DurhamWorks in the way that best meets their needs and barriers to progression. Their experiences of the programme will be individual to them. Young people will be able to move between Delivery Partners and their programmes will vary in length but will be an average of 6 months, based on their needs.

What can we help with?

  • You will receive information, advice and guidance from qualified staff.
  • You will be supported to develop a clear action plan and CV.

  • You will have access to a range of courses and training from our partners to help you improve your work skills.
  • If needed, you will get help with Maths, English and other individual learning needs.
  • We will seek funding to help you get into a job or apprenticeship including grants for employers, initial transport costs, childcare costs and work clothes.
  • Extra support from peer mentors where that would be helpful.
