Signs of Safety is our practice framework supporting consistent practice across Children's Social Care and all of our partners, which is designed to help you slow down your thinking so that robust evidence-based assessment and analysis guides your practice.

Support for your social work practice

  • Regular supervision and guidance: You'll receive consistent support from your team manager, including reflective case supervision and help with key decisions.
  • Case support: A social work consultant will be available daily to advise on cases, assist with challenging meetings, and keep you on track.
  • Enhanced practitioner role: You'll have opportunities to support newly qualified colleagues and students on placement, sharing your expertise.
  • Skilled support staff: Family workers and social work assistants collaborate with you to meet families' needs.
  • Administrative assistance: A team co-ordinator will help manage vital administrative tasks.
  • Specialist teams:
    • A dedicated family time team supports safe and positive family contact.
    • A voluntary and community sector worker in each locality helps connect families with local support.
    • The Supporting Solutions service works with young people on the edge of care and their families.
    • Early help services offer targeted programmes for parents dealing with domestic abuse, parenting challenges, and low self-esteem.
  • Smart Case Management: We use Liquidlogic, a flexible, intuitive, and secure electronic system that simplifies case recording and management.
