Parkinson's Disease and Medication

This course discusses the importance of Parkinson's medication, why it is so important that the patient receives their medication on time and what the effects can be if we do not do this.

Entry Requirements

Care home must care for Intermediate Care patients.

Who the course is for

All Senior Carers and Nursing staff who manage medication.

Learning method

The course is Face to Face and will take you approximately 60 minutes to complete. Supporting documentation will be given for future reference.

What you will learn

By completing this course, you will:

Be able to identify common Parkinson's medication
Understand why they are important and the effects to the patient if they miss doses or don't receive their doses at the time specified.
What to do if a patient does miss a dose(s).
What working practice can we do to support staff to ensure we administer medication on time.
