Palliative Care Seminars for Care Homes

These lunchtime seminars are for professionals working in care homes. Following our successful 2024 programme of lunchtime seminars for colleagues working in the care home sector, please see the sessions planned for 2025. It is possible that additional events may be added.

Who the course is for

These sessions are intended to provide education and guidance to nursing and senior care staff, ANPs, managers and deputies, and other colleagues who are involved in supporting the sector.

Learning method

These lunchtime seminars are delivered from 12.00noon to 12.50pm over MS Teams. 

What you will learn

  • Mouth care: key points.
  • Reflections from mortality reviews.
  • Advance care planning and effective use of the Emergency Health Care Plans.
  • Management of advanced Parkinson's Disease with Frailty in community care settings.
  • Symptom management at the end of life, and where to get advice.
  • Topic to be confirmed.
  • Advanced liver disease.
  • Decisions about nutrition and hydration.

Course benefits

Sessions are a series of lunchtime seminars hosted online using Microsoft Teams.

These sessions are intended to provide education and guidance to nursing and senior care staff, ANPs, managers and deputies, and other colleagues who are involved in supporting the sector.
