We offer support with the skills you need to help you in daily life, such as managing money, getting a job or keeping your home safe.

How to manage your money
When money is short, we can help you to manage the money you have. This includes how to:
- avoid or manage debt
- cook on a budget
- access food banks
- use credit unions and saving schemes
- access furniture schemes
- get housing advice
- contact Citizens Advice or Benefits advice or help with a benefits appeal
How to keep your home safe for you and your family
This includes:
- help to access support from our Welfare assistance scheme and charitable grants (for example Help with buying items for school)
- support to obtain basic household items
- school holiday activities
Jobs and training
This includes advice on how to:
- get a job or apply for training (DurhamWorks)
- improve the skills you need in most jobs, such as managing your time, having a positive attitude, working in a team and communicating with others
